As a team, you will present the ethical and corporate social responsibility issues for a business recently in the news. In addition to a one-page, type-written paper that explains the issues and decisions made by the company as well as responses from the media and the public, you will prepare a 10-minute presentation for the class.

Requirements:

1. Make sure you are able to identify the ethical issue, e.g., lying, bribery, fraud, conflict of interest, conflict of loyalty, honesty, integrity, illegal activity, immoral activity.
2. A type-written paper (one-page minimum) from the group that explains the issues and decisions made by the company as well as responses from the media and the public
3. A 10-minute presentation on your findings. For the presentation you may prepare a slide show, Prezi, Photo Story, Youtube Video or develop a website or blog or any other visual digital format.

Major questions you should be able to answer in your paper and presentation include:

1. What was the issue and why was it a problem of ethics or corporate social responsibility?
2. How was the issue uncovered or disclosed?
3. What was the business’s response? What decisions did the business make?
4. Who or what did the company say was the source of the issue? Who or what did the company blame?
5. How was the business’s reputation (public perception) damaged?
6. Has the business been able to repair consumer confidence and/or their public image? If so, how?
7. What is the current status of the company regarding this issue? Stock price, market presence, public/social media perception, etc.?

This assignment is due by Monday, April 17, 2017. This is when presentations will begin.

Grading Rubric – Grades will be based on each individual’s contribution to the group’s paper and presentation. Every member of the group must be present for the presentation.  If you are not present for the planning or presentation you will not receive credit for this assignment.
